Become the Legend

Days to Competition:

About the Ultimate Street Car SA

Based on the success of the Ultimate Street Car back in 2006, we've decided to bring back the USC, with a twist...

Do you ever get that feeling of monotony… that sense of repetition… that feeling of having something that is never used to its full potential? Well, we do! There comes a time when you get bored of simple breakfast runs, tired of attending the same track day for the 50th time, and weary of looking at your car just sitting in your garage.

Recently, we’ve been at the forefront of embarking on groundbreaking journeys, exploring roads that nobody dares to travel. But this time, we thought, why should we embark on this journey alone?

So, we’re inviting YOU!

The Ultimate Street Car SA is a competition which will be split into 4 class, designed to provide an exhilarating experience for the general public and big-time car enthusiasts who are ready to embark on an all-out weekend of adrenaline, team building and laid-back highway runs.

Drivers stand a chance to win cash prizes as they compete in drag races, time trials, and more, testing their skills & vehicles to the limit to determine the best all-around street car.

Join us for the thrill of Ultimate Street Car SA and see if you have what it takes to be crowned the ultimate street car champion.

Weekend Breakdown

Friday Night

Saturday Morning
Midvaal Raceway

Saturday Afternoon
The Rock Raceway

Sunday Morning
Zwartkops Raceway

Sunday Afternoon
Zwartkops Raceway

The event will start off with a car meet, this is where we will be meeting and greeting everyone, people can get to know each other, have a look at their cars and it gives us the perfect opportunity to get our vehicle scrutineering done. We then will have a drivers briefing where we will be outlining the event, going through the rules, the classes, the event structure and how everything will be coordinated throughout the weekend. We feel this is a great opportunity to create comradery between all the participants and to basically set the tone for the weekend’s events to come.

Our Saturday morning will kick off with coffee and a light snack at Midvaal Raceway in Vereeniging. We will all meet at the venue and will begin proceedings. The first event at Midvaal will be a rolling 800 meter with a twist and will then proceed with standing quarter mile drags. Each contestant will have 2 runs to set their best speed/time for these events. All the results will be captured into the different classes that we have outlined. .

We will arrive at The Rock raceway in the early afternoon where each driver will be supplied with lunch. After lunch, we will head on over to do a bunch of events. The idea is to use the entire facility of The Rock Raceway for an event we like to call, “The Super Stage”. We will design the various courses to make use of the oval, events will run into the night to increase the challenge of crowning the overall champion. There will also be a head – to – head event In which competitors from the same class will race against each other but the time of each competitor will still only count towards the overall competitors finishing time, and not the position they finish in with regards to the head – to – head event. The purpose of this event is to test the drivers car control and their ability to navigate through the super stage with precision and speed.

The final day of the Ultimate Street Car will see competitors arrive for an early morning start at Zwartkops Raceway. The day will begin with coffee and a light snack, then moving to a drivers briefing to explain the rules & formalities and go through the events for the day. The event will be reverse laps around Zwartkops raceway, there will be a twist which will be revealed on the day to competitors. Each competitor will have 2 timed laps around the circuit in the reverse direction in which both laps will count towards both the class and overall time. This is to test the drivers on a lap that they have never done before, how quickly they can adapt and adjust to seeing the circuit in a completely different manner for the first time.

The second event of the day will be a wet skidpan event where we will set up a Gymkhana special stage with a twist going on and off of the Gymkhana. Each driver will complete two timed runs for this event and both runs will count towards the overall event time for each competitor. The purpose of this challenge is to test the drivers ability to switch from a wet surface to a dry surface in the same run and test their ability to find the amount of grip there is on the course. Once the event has concluded, we will all move to the Zwartkops canteen area where lunch will be served. There will be a cash bar available. At this point the results will be calculated, and we will then conclude the event with a prize giving.

In conclusion

The Ultimate Street Car event is a unique event which puts the drivers and their support crew at the forefront of proceedings, the event is created and the aim is pure enjoyment. We want to create an event that is completely different to the usual events and an event that has a little bit of everything in it in order to create a new spin on events going forward. We are looking forward to seeing what the future holds
and exactly how much we are able to grow the event, grow with the drivers and ultimately excel in the future events by ironing out all the potential hiccups as we go along. We want feedback, we want communication and we want to hear your thoughts on what can be added and amended going forward throughout the future of
our event.
